ABOUT
Catharine Slade Consulting was established in October 2007.
​
Since that time Catharine has worked on numerous projects for  both start-ups and established companies, including Pearson Education, BBC Active and Discovery Education. Work has included the specification and development of online content, platforms and services, the authoring of award-winning content, the 'translation' of US content for UK markets, bid-writing and end-to end project delivery services. Recently she co-founded and  managed the development of Rockfig - a social network for 11 to 18 year old learners, their parents and teachers. 


She has developed a reputation for pragmatic project delivery with a focus on communication, detail and documentation

2002-2007
Between 2002  and 2007 Catharine was Head of Product Development and Executive Producer for KnowledgeBox, Pearson's learning environment and news service for primary schools. In 2003 KnowledgeBox won the 
Offline Learning BAFTA
 and in 2005 was nominated for three BETT awards, winning the award for Early Years and Primary Software Content and Tools.

1997-2002
From 1997 to 2002 Catharine was a Senior Producer and Author for  Espresso Productions ( now part of Discovery Education) She was a member of the start-up team responsible for developing the multi-award winning Espresso for Schools service;  a video-rich curriculum and teacher training service for primary and secondary schools. She was responsible for product research, conception, video creation, authoring and presenting, project management and delivery.
 
Pre 1997
Prior to 1997  Catharine was a lecturer on the  primary science education teacher training programme at Roehampton Institute of Higher Education and spent ten years as a deputy head and teacher in primary schools across West London.

She has worked as an educational writer for The Science Museum, South Kensington and as a TV presenter for Espresso Productions, Pearson and on the BBC's Educational News and Current affairs series - Just One Chance.
